Adult Faith Formation

Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.

Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est

Growing in your faith is a lifelong process. The Sacraments of Initiation are the beginning of a relationship, not a graduation party at the end of studies. This relationship with God continues every day and permeates our whole lives, if we allow Him in. Our parish hopes to walk with you and support you in that daily journey with Jesus.

At Our Parish

Sacraments

I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.
John 6:35

The most powerful way to grow closer to God is to encounter Him in the Sacraments. At Mass, we come into Jesus’ true presence, body and blood, soul and divinity; we experience a taste of heaven. In Confession, we find God’s infinite mercy as our loving Father welcomes us home, no matter how far we have wandered. See our home page for Mass and Confession times – you are always welcome!

RCIA

Our relationship with God is a journey that lasts our entire lives. If you are interested in becoming Catholic as an adult, you are welcome here! In the Church, this process is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. To learn more about this process, go to our RCIA page. We would be honored to accompany you on your journey.

Small Groups & Studies

Lent & Springtime

Sundays – 10:00am – Foundations of Faith
1st & 3rd Sundays – The Gospel of Matthew with Fr. Terry
2nd & 4th Sundays – Symbolon: The Catholic Faith Explained. Explore the big picture of the Catholic faith with Deacon Tom Eden.

Tuesdays – 7:00pm – The Mass
Would it surprise you that the Mass that we celebrate is both similar and different from the Mass that developed after Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension?  Are all Masses the same?  This class will explore the development of the Mass, its history and meaning.  We will examine the various parts of the Mass and the various kinds of Masses in the church.  We will tour the inside of our worship space and show how it supports and adds to the Mass.  We hope you can attend. Led by Deacon Steve Swope.

Thursdays – 10:00am – The Gospel of John
Grow closer to Christ this Lent as we walk through high points of John’s Gospel. Share your thoughts and learn from others in weekly small group discussion. Experience visio divina as we pray with sacred art. Led by Ellie Reed.

We will keep updating this page with future offerings. Look forward to sessions in Easter season!

At Home

Scripture

“For the word of God is living and active” (Hebrews 4:12). Get to know God better by reading the Bible. There are lots of options for different Bibles with helpful commentaries and notes. A few suggestions are listed below, but find one that works for you! Just make sure you’re reading a Catholic edition of the Bible so all the books of Scripture are included.

Spiritual Reading

Learn from fellow Christians who have walked through life with Jesus just like you! Modern authors and ancient saints have so much to teach us about the beauty and messiness of the life of faith. Search any of the publishers below:
